How to reach Parma

  • By plane: The closest airports are Bologna airport and Milano Linate. It is necessary to take a train to reach Parma both from Bologna and Milan.
  • By train: At least two trains per hour connect Parma with “Bologna Centrale” and “Milano Centrale”. Please note that High Speed trains do not stop in Parma. The closest High Speed train stations are “Bologna Centrale” (recommended) and “Reggio Emilia AV”. If travelling to “Reggio Emilia AV”, note that it is necessary to take a bus to Reggio Emilia mainline, where you can get a train to Parma.
  • By car: From Bologna or Milan (highway A1) exit at “Parma”. From La Spezia (highway A15) exit at “Parma Ovest” and take Via Emilia (SS 9) eastbound towards Parma.

Venue

The workshop will take place at Centro Sant’Elisabetta, Parco Area delle Scienze 95, 43124 Parma.
Centro Sant’Elisabetta is located inside the Campus of the University of Parma, which is 5 km distant from the center of Parma. A large information totem is located at the main entrance of Centro Sant’Elisabetta.

How to reach the venue

  • By bus: Bus routes 7 and 21 (direction “Campus” or “Q.re Calzetti”) connect the train station (bus stop: “Stazione FS est”) to the Campus. Buses run every 15 minutes on both routes. Once you arrive at the Campus, get off at “Università Ingegneria”, which is the third stop inside the Campus. Additional information on the public transport of Parma can be found here.
  • By car:  The Campus is located south of Parma, close to the bypass road. From the city center, follow the directions to “Langhirano” or “Campus”. From highways A1 and A15, follow the directions to the bypass road towards “Langhirano” or “Campus” and leave the bypass road at exit 15. At the roundabout, take the first exit, go past the cinema, enter the Campus and follow the main road. After two right turns, you will find a small roundabout: take the last exit and proceed to the large parking lot available on your right.
  • By taxi: Ask the taxi driver to take you to the Campus at Centro Sant’Elisabetta. You may have to specify that Centro Sant’Elisabetta is located in front of the new entrance of the Engineering building (known as “I Cubi”).

It is preferable to book a hotel close to the center of Parma and to travel to the venue by bus.
